A CELEBRATION OF BIRD ART

Eric Peake is internationally known for his highly detailed watercolour paintings of birds with a career spanning over 40 years.  In 1984 Eric realised the plight of parrots and concentrated his work in that area until just recently.  Not only has he been an active aviculturalist, he has also used his ability to paint and draw to help increase public awareness in areas of avian research, rescue & rehabilitation and conservation for the birds he loves so much.

Studying from the collection of birds at Loro Parque, Tenerife, Canary Islands and Chester Zoo, England as well as private bird collections, Eric paints in transparent watercolour to the finest detail so much so that he was commissioned to paint a pair of Princess of Wales parakeets for H.R.H. Princess of Wales, Princess Diana.  Eric has painted many species of birds over the years.  Through indepth study of the anatomy, feather patterns and colour of his subjects he strives for utmost accuracy in his painting.
